3M is looking for outstanding students for our Business roles. We recognise that our people are the reason why our business is so successful and the students who undertake a placement year here will have an influence in the day to day running of the company. That is why we want to attract the best people to roles within 3M. Required Profile

• The right to live and work in the EU
• To be on target to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree  in a respected subject, backed up by strong A level results (A/B Grades including at least one STEM subject ) or equivalent qualifications.
• A UCAS tariff of at least 300 points
• Experience which demonstrates a commitment to working in a Business related role.
• Self motivated individuals who are clear about what they are looking for and are able to take ownership of tasks and their career.
• Team oriented. Encourages others and works effectively in a team to achieve the required goal. Able to take on whatever role is required by the situation.
• Results focused. Uses own initiative, recognising, creating and seizing opportunities to implement ideas to achieve results.
• Project planning and control experience as demonstrated through extra curricular and work experience examples.
• UK Driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Training and Development
Business placement students  will work in one of our many support functions and are given real responsibility from day one. We think this is the best way to learn the trade and allow you to show us your talent. We recruit students because they bring new ideas into the team and we foster an environment which listens to what they have to say.

You will join our training programme which is delivered throughout the 12 months, encompassing skills fundamental to succeed in the world of business. Workshops will include sessions on presentation, negotiation and time management skills, as well as ensuring placement students have a full understanding of how 3M functions as a business. We want our students and graduates to be future company leaders and the training is focused towards giving you what you need to achieve this.
