3M™ Scotchcast™ Resin Pack 2131-A is our two-component, flame-retardant, flexible polyurethane resin for room temperature curing. Its unique formulation is suited to withstand the rugged conditions under which mine and portable cable must operate.

For electrical insulation and flame-retardant mechanical protection of flexible, low-voltage, electrical cable joints use 3M™ Scotchcast™ Resin Pack 2131-A. Our tough and flexible resin can be used to replace or repair cable jackets for both single and multi-core power cables and is suitable for sealing the crutch and/or sheath when terminating multi-core cables. It’s suitable for indoor and outdoor, underground and submerged environments. It features good adhesion to metals and different plastics, excellent hydrolytic stability, low exothermic reaction temperature, and bonds to most modern cable jackets and itself. The shelf life is at least 36 months when stored between 10-40 °C, with humidity level < 75 % and in the originally sealed bag. When used in accordance with the appropriate kit configuration, this resin meets Part 7, Title 30 CFR and carries MSHA approvals. The resin pack comes in a two-part, closed mixing pouch within a single 74 ml bag (90 g). Single box. 3M™ Scotchcast™ Resin 2131 is classified as LI-LMP-MMP (low-voltage insulation and mechanical protection) according to CENELEC HD 631.1 S2 Standard and is compliant with EU directive 1907/2007/EC (REACH).
