Low stretch void index. Applied to containing chemically aggressive fluids or
gases - even at high temperatures.
Flue gas desulfurization operations in fossil fuel power plants and waste incineration plants include heat exchanger systems for cooling and reheating flue gas below the acid dew point to additionally increase plant efficiency. The handling of highly corrosive flue gases like humid SO2, SO3, HCl and HF means careful material selection for the heat exchanger tubes is essential. PFA has been successfully doing the job since the 1980s.

3M™ Dyneon™ TFM™ Modified Suspension PTFE Grades
High pressure hydraulic hose solutions based on 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE are used in material handling equipment and mechanical engineering systems where petroleum-, synthetic- or water-based hydraulic fluids are present. Our inner layer hose constructions are the answer when excellent temperature, chemical and permeation resistance at elevated pressure levels are required. And let's not forget the long-lasting, very high flow rates that result from 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE's non-stick capability that prevents sedimentation on the hose surface.

Located in the exhaust pipe of a car, the lambda probe is the key sensor which measures the amount of oxygen in the flue gas. The sensor‘s input is used to control the fuel mixture and adjusts it when necessary. This optimizes fuel consumption and reduces exhaust emissions. The optimum service temperature of the probe is about 300° C.
In future engine concepts, the space available for exhaust gas sensors will be getting ever smaller. In addition, the sensors will be subjected to even higher temperatures. Smaller, lighter, more versatile and above all ready for operation in the shortest possible time: these will be the requirements of your further developments.
In order to meet future more stringent exhaust gas regulations, high-quality materials which can withstand higher temperatures, including at connection points, will be essential.
3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoropolymers are a perfect match, as they combine the ability to withstand the highest service temperatures with extraordinary chemical resistance.
Typical products used for separators, corrugated tubes or cable insulations are:
