Expanded membrane. Applied to clothing that protects – and breathes.
Used as flat flange or body gaskets, Dyneon Fluoropolymers are excellent at sealing metal or glass pipes. That's why you will find them in many applications in the chemical processing and food and beverage industries.
Quick, clean, economical sealing of male pipe threads and vessel flanges is essential to reduce the risk of system contamination. 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE unsintered thread sealant tape has a lubricating function to create the seal more easily. It can be used in pressurized water systems, such as central heating systems, as well as in air compression equipment. The tape is available in different colours for colour-coded pipelines.
For diverse filtration applications under aggressive conditions in the CPI sector, such as in power plants and waste incineration as well as biomass and pyrolysis plants, choose yarn made from 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE.
The handling of highly corrosive flue gases like humid SO2, SO3, HCl and HF in fossil fuel power plants and waste incineration plants requires corrosion protection of carbon steel parts, especially where temperatures are at or below the dew point. These conditions are specifically challenging in the flue gas ducts. To compensate for the thermal expansion of the ducts, corrosion-resistant expansion joints are equally essential, and fluoroelastomers are established products for these conditions.
Expanded membranes based on 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE separate liquid from gaseous phases. This unique property opened a new market for PTFE – besides many industrial applications it is used in protective yet breathable clothing. In the chemical industry these membranes are typically used as filter media for purification processes.
