From 17th to 21st of October 2017, the 3M Advanced Material Division presents its trailblazing plastic technologies at the Fakuma 2017 in Friedrichshafen, which is an industry meeting for plastics processing.
Visit the 3M Advanced Materials Division an the 3M subsidiary Dyneon GmbH in Hall B4, Booth 4406!
The following highlights will be presented:
The latest state of research on the additive production of PTFE components is shown by 3M at the Fakuma. The company has developed and applied for a patent for a new technology: for the first time ever, fully fluorinated polymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) can be processed by means of a 3D printing method. The new process enables the manufacture of components and the integration of several functions in one moulded part – at the click of a mouse and entirely without tools.
Another highlight at the trade fair for plastics processing are 3M™ Glass Bubbles, which have proven their worth in thermoplastic materials such as lightweight construction compounds. At the Fakuma, we will show you the special characteristics of our Glass Bubbles, which are already found in every fifth car: lightweight, easy processing, thermal insulation, fast cooling and high compressive strength. Our calculation tool "WeightVolumeCalculator" helps to understand the weight advantages when Glass Bubbles are used in plastics.
Take chance to learn more about our future-oriented technologies in the plastic industry. Visit 3M at the Fakuma 2017. We are looking forward to see you!
