The aim of this course is to provide those attending with the essential knowledge and practical skills required when carrying out small lifting operations. On completion of the course the successful candidate will have an understanding of the legislation that applies to lifting operations and SWLs / WLLs and will be able to: assess loads in terms of their weight and centre of gravity; carry out pre-use inspections on equipment to ensure safe lifting; sling loads and ensure they are secure and ready for lifting; use the correct hand and radio signals; demonstrate the correct use of different lifting equipment (e.g. lifting bags, slings, shackles and chains).

The GWO BST (or BSTR) Working at Height training certificate (delegates must be able to work at height and may be required to use personal fall protection equipment).
This course is aimed at people with a responsibility to carry out slinging and lifting operations and those who supervise such work.
All successful delegates will receive a certificate valid for 2 years, after which a refresher training will be necessary. 3M will notify you when your certificate is due for renewal
