Some elements to take into account when choosing a safety harness
A lanyard keeper provides a place to store the lanyard when not in use. It prevents tripping and tangling to reinforce safety.
The webbing, essential for the durability and safety of the harness, must be strong enough to withstand abrupt use and exposure to the elements without breaking or wearing out. Special applications, such as welding, require Nomex®/Kevlar®, which offers resistance to high temperatures.
Whether you wear a harness for 4 hours a day or for 14 hours, it must be adjusted correctly for safety and comfort. Harnesses with adjustment points on the legs, waist (belt models), chest and torso provide a better fit.
Depending on preferences, there are different options for leg straps:
In the event of a fall, these straps can be released to form a loop which the worker can stand on to reduce the pressure on the legs.
A sub-pelvic tether strap provides more support, safety and comfort for the wearer. Properly positioned, it better distributes forces during a fall.
The main fall arrest point is located on the back, between the shoulder blades. All of our harnesses include a dorsal attachment point.
Book style labels contain product information and make inspection easier for workers. These labels promote quick inspection, compliance and safety.
Padding with breathable linings help wick moisture away from the body to keep it dry and comfortable in heat or cold.
Padded shoulder, leg and hip pads reduce pressure and provide comfort for the worker during long hours of use. In the event of a fall, they absorb impact and help redistribute weight.
Impact indicators immediately provide notice that the worker and the harness have been in a fall. This function promotes safety and proper inspection.
High strength quality threads and specifically designed stitch patterns provide maximum strength and durability.
