3M Safety Network Live events will be held in Dublin and Glasgow in September and Bracknell, Berkshire, in October and health and safety professionals are invited to sign up.

    • The free one-day seminars, covering topics ranging from the Science of Safety to mental wellbeing, will be held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 14 September; Celtic Park football stadium in Glasgow on 28 September and 3M’s head office in Bracknell on 5 October.

The events are aimed at health and safety professionals and will include sessions on how to win over your audience, led by communication specialist from Body Talk Marcus Webb, as well as improving mental health at work and managing stress, with tips from chartered psychologist David Fox.

Rob Brill, technical manager for 3M’s Personal Safety Division, will also host a session explaining how his team’s approach to the Science of Safety - covering selection, training and fit of personal protective equipment - can help improve compliance.

There will also be demonstrations of 3M’s fall protection and confined space access solutions and a session showing how 3M’s advanced abrasive tools can help reduce hand-arm vibration.

To round the day off, visitors will be invited to attend an interactive workplace safety workshop. In this, actors will play out a dramatic scenario to show how the behaviour of individuals and the demands of work can lead to injuries and will explore effective strategies for creating a safety-first culture.

Said 3M senior marketing executive for Personal Safety, Steve Crouchley: “We have a packed agenda for the seminars and are looking forward to welcoming health and safety professionals to these free events and exploring ways that we can work together to improve safety at work.”
