The 3M™ Scotchlite™ silver reflective transfer film 5807 was especially developed for the plotting of lettering and the like. On high-visibility clothing, such as industrial and occupational garments, leisure wear and accessories, it helps to enhance the visibility of the wearer at night or in low-light conditions. The material shines white when illuminated, even if the wearer is at the roadside. It is comprised of exposed retroreflective glass beads bonded to a durable polymer layer coated with a heat-activated adhesive. 3M's reflective transfer film meets ISO 20471 requirements but easily exceeds the minimum reflections values required at the highest performance level, thus greatly improving the visibility of people. It offers good value for money for high-visibility and occupational garments that require greater durability laundered at home. The reflective transfer film 5807 is easily washable at home up to 60°C (50 cycles as per ISO 20471 depending on substrate). Dry cleaning is also possible (30 cycles as per ISO 3175 depending on substrate). The material itself can be used on delicate fabrics. When it comes to tough fabrics, the user can choose any care procedure. The reflective transfer film is assimilated through lamination and is thus permanently bonded to the garment without adding bulk. Because of this, it offers improved wear comfort and is also suitable for garments with membranes. Another advantage: Equipped with a special application tape it is well suited especially for direct plotting and patching, and for creating logos and individual shapes. Because of this and the fact that it can be customised by means of conversion, a variety of individual designs can be easily implemented through printing. At the same time, the retroreflective properties of the material are independent of the grain on the garment and achieve a good impact even when wet.
