Low viscocity, low fluorine (65.5 percent) raw gum terpolymer for improved low temperature flexibility

A Raw Gum for Transfer and Injection Molding
3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FE 5522 has numerous attributes that make it ideal for use in transfer and injection molding. This raw gum is also used to adjust parameters, e.g. crosslink density and viscosity. It does not include an incorporated curative, but is curable with amine or bisphenol-type curing agents. Dyneon fluoroelastomer FE 5522 is packaged in slab form and is available in individual 27.5 lb. (12.5 kg) polyethylene bags in 55.1 lb. (25.0 kg) boxes.

Dyneon fluoroelastomer FE 5522 can be compounded using standard water-cooled internal mixers or two-roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical fluoroelastomer formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, FE 5522 should be banded on the mill prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.
