3M™ Easy Clean Coating ECC-1000 is a clear, colorless treatment for ceramic, glass and other non-porous materials. It also offers stain resistance, water and oil repellency. ECC-1000 is 100% solid making it ideal for chemical vapor deposition coating processes.

3M™ Easy Clean Coating ECC-1000 is a clear, colorless treatment for ceramic, glass and other non-porous materials that can be used to provide easy-to-clean surfaces. This fluoropolymer reacts with some surfaces to create a low surface energy coating that is not easily wetted out with liquids. The treatment is stable and durable. It can be removed by harsh cleaning agents, such as abrasives or a very strong base.

ECC-1000 coating can be applied by spray application or dip coating. In order to accomplish this you need to dilute the solution to about 0.1% by weight of the product with a fluorinated solvent. This results in a coating thickness of 20 to 100 nm. ECC-1000 and can also be applied by vapor deposition process. The treatment provides a hydrophobic surface that allows for simple rinsing away of soils and sludge from the surface with no residual surface staining. The treated surface is durable, highly repellent to oils and water. In addition, the coating typically does not change surface appearance.
