It has an 18-month shelf life. 3M monitor badges are simple and effective devices that collect certain gas/vapour airborne contaminants using the principle of diffusion. They assist in the assessment of workplace contaminant measurement, both personal and background.

Collect and monitor ethylene oxide gas and other organic vapours and airborne chemicals in the workplace, with 3M™ Ethylene Oxide Monitor Badge, 3551. Our simple yet effective device assists in the measurement and assessment of workplace contaminants, both personal and background. It uses the proven scientific principle of diffusion and has an accuracy of +/-25%, at a 95% confidence level for many workplace contaminants. Simply attach it to your collar – the contaminant defuses through the permeable membrane where it’s collected by the active absorbent. The sample should then be sent separately to a laboratory for analysis. The concentration level in the sampling area is calculated based on the quantity absorbed into the monitor badge in relation to the exposure time. It has a storage life of up to 18 months.
