3M™ Cold Shrink Cable Joint LC5-STFF14 is our kit containing 3M™ Cold Shrink Pre-Stretched Outer Tube, Scotch® 23 Self Amalgamating Insulation Tape, armour/earth connection components, full installation instructions, and a STFF shield to protect against smoke, toxicity, flame and fumes.
For multi-core, low-voltage power cables up to 1.9/3.3 kV and some multi-pair cables use 3M™ Cold Shrink Cable Joint LC5-STFF14. Our kit is designed for flexible or trailing cables, cable tray applications and indoor applications. It’s suitable for XLPE/PVC insulated, steel wire armoured and PVC sheathed cables, with or without a lead sheath. Power cable sizes 500-630 mm² (single core) 150-185 mm² (2 core) 95-150 mm² (3 core) and 70-120 mm² (4 core). Additional mechanical protection may be required for direct burial. The STFF shield, made up of layers of woven glass fabric and high temperature silica protects against smoke, toxicity, flame and fumes. It allows the installation of standard joints and accessories in areas such as underground rail, tunnels, and any application where fire-resistant, halogen-free, or low-toxicity products are required to be installed. 3M Cold Shrink technology eliminates the need for resin, heat and special tools to make a quick, simple and reliable installation. The Cold Shrink outer protection tube provides a reliable environmental seal, and is resistant to acid, alkalis, ozone and ultraviolet (UV) light.
