3M has chosen Road Safety Week (21-27 November) to launch a new website showcasing a range of solutions designed to reduce road fatalities and injuries.
The volume of traffic is continuing to rise on UK roads and each day an average of five fatalities and 61 serious injuries are recorded.
Road Safety Week is the UK's biggest annual road safety event - coordinated by the charity Brake - and involves thousands of schools, organisations and communities doing their bit to make our roads safer.
This year Brake is encouraging road users to sign up to its pledge to drive less and, if they do drive, to do everything they can to protect themselves and the people around them.
Said Ben Rooney, 3M’s segment marketing leader for Traffic Management: “We are delighted to promote Road Safety Week as part of our campaign to help those involved in designing and managing the road network reduce accidents and manage congestion.
“3M has been developing technologies to improve road safety and manage traffic flow for more than 70 years and has manufactured reflective sheeting for traffic signs since the 1940s, regularly innovating to produce cutting-edge materials that improve the visibility of traffic signs, vehicles and road markings from a range of angles and distances.
“The new website brings together all our road safety solutions including average speed camera technology; reflective vehicle markings; solutions to clearly mark out road construction zones; and retro-reflective road marking tapes and studs to guide drivers in all weather conditions.”
The site offers an engaging user experience with improved navigation and contains detailed technical product information. It is also compatible with all devices, including laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Added Ben: “Our solutions are aimed at those responsible for the road network, but anyone can do their bit to help make our roads safer by supporting Brake’s campaign and taking the pledge.”
