3M has been ranked as one of the world’s 25 best multinational workplaces by Great Place to Work® and the business magazine Fortune.
This global recognition was given as a result of research that assessed confidential assessments made by 3M employees covering areas such as their jobs, managers, colleagues, opportunities for training and the help they’re given to achieve a good work/life balance.
Since 2011, Great Place to Work has identified the top organisations that create great workplaces in multiple countries. From thousands of companies considered as great workplaces, 3M stood out with an impressive 15 national Best Workplace titles around the globe.
UK and Ireland managing director Christiane Gruen commented: “We’re delighted that the company has received such great recognition – especially as it’s based on how 3M employees view the organisation they work for.”
To be considered eligible for the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list, companies must appear on a minimum of five national best workplace lists that rank organisations based on the results of their Trust Index© employee survey and Culture Audit© assessment. Candidates must have a minimum of 5,000 employees worldwide and 40 per cent of their workforce must be based outside of the country in which they are headquartered.
Kim Peters, executive vice-president of Great Place to Work congratulated the companies singled out for recognition. “These organisations are well known because their brands appear around the globe. But behind these successful brands are high-trust workplaces where the vast majority of employees feel valued, well treated and that their work makes a difference,” she said.
