3M™ Scotchcast™ Flame-Retardant Compound 2131 is a 2-part polyurethane resin used for electrically insulating between connectors at low voltage as well as replacing cable jackets when splicing or repairing mine and portable cables. This permanent, liquid type resin has a unique formulation designed for use in the rugged conditions in which mine and portable cable operate. The high dielectric strength offers a very good electrical insulating property to the resin.
3M™ Scotchcast™ Flame-Retardant Compound 2131 has a low gel-point rating to ensure curing at the room temperature. The high tensile strength of the resin exhibits a semi-flexible property and good adhesion property after curing. It is ideal for applications that need excellent thermal shock and mechanical shock resistance. It has a high flash point, preventing any fire hazard due to quick ignition. The flame retardant resin allows you to electrically insulate cable splices operating up to 1 kV and to seal the crotch or sheath when terminating multi core cables. RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
