To prepare pipe surfaces for tape application, use 3M™ Scotchrap™ Pipe Primer. This pipe primer permeates metal surface pits and irregularities, preparing the pipe surface for tape application. It’s quick drying and enhances adhesion. Compatible with the special adhesive on 3M Scotchrap Tapes, it’s intended to be used with 3M Scotchrap All-Weather Corrosion Protection Tapes 50 and 51.
