Silicon carbide mineral coated on a 3 mil polyester film. Available in 5.0, 9.0, 15.0 and 30.0 micron and is our standard product for silicon carbide related polishing applications in the fiber optic and metallurgical industries.

Achieve a good polished finish in fibre optics and metallurgic applications, with 3M™ Lapping Film 461X, our superior films for silicon carbide related polishing. Our films are made up of tightly packed and precisely graded silicon carbide particles, coated on a 3mil polyester film. The tightly packed particles offer a more consistent cut rate and finish. Choose from discs, sheets and rolls, in 5.0, 9.0, 15.0, and 30.0 micron grades.
