3M™ Thermal Barrier 5000 Series is a two-part, dispensable, lightweight, silicon-based thermal runaway barrier solution that can help OEMs address current battery safety requirements. It can help protect cells and electrical components from heat, flames and cell debris caused by a thermal runaway event in high energy density cylindrical cell designs. By creating a fire retardant, electrically and thermally insulating barrier layer, 3M™ Thermal Barrier 5000 Series helps protect neighbouring cells from the energy given off from a failed cell.
