3M™ Ribbon Cable Wiremount Socket 1.27 mm (0.050") Pitch 451 Series allows for much higher connection density in less board space. This 1.27 mm/.050" socket helps increase design flexibility – its small size makes for many more ribbon cable connections per board and less cost per assembly. Unlike many other connectors the header features a true half-size board footprint, so it integrates easily into designs using the industry standard .100 in. for sockets and headers. Friction latch configurations are available for increased protection against accidental disconnects when using a box header.

Versatile as well as space-saving for ribbon cable applications, 3M™ Ribbon Cable Wiremount Socket 1.27 mm (0.050") Pitch 451 Series is a robust connector in a small package. It features a socket body in multiple positions, along with a cover and an optional strain relief. Center polarization is available with or without optional friction latches. The UL & CUL Listed socket helps enable cable end and feed through termination as well as mass termination. Optional friction latches helps reduce overall connection time and help prevent accidental disconnections yet enable easy ejection of the socket when needed.
- Insulation Displacement Connection
This socket helps enable mass IDC termination of flat flex cables, saving installation time. Its top cover features cantilevered U-shaped contacts that accept .025” pitch ribbon cable. Simply inserting the cable into the cover and pushing it into the socket body makes stable, reliable metal-to-metal contact without the need to strip and crimp each connector.
