3M Cold Shrink Cable Abandonment Kit

The 3M™ Cable Abandonment kit comes complete with all the components required to abandon cables either temporarily or permanently. Unlike simply using a cable end cap, the cable abandonment kit ensures the cables have been made safe even if they are accidentally re-energized. The kit uses a combination of a 3M™ Cold shrink cable end cap and pre stretched tubes that are factory loaded onto a removable core.

When the cold shrink end caps and tube are positioned over the end of a cable, the core is then removed by hand. The live memory action of the specially formulated. Because these products are cold applied, the system is ideal where hot work permits are difficult to obtain and is also a cost effective alternative as no specialist equipment is required. These kits are widely used in onshore and off-shore environments.
