In aircraft galleys, lavatories and entry areas there is a potential danger of fluids penetrating the floor, leading to corrosion of aircraft structures, and problems with under floor electrical wiring. If such corrosion is not identified and stopped, it can lead to costly maintenance work. 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tapes 8666, 8663 and 8663DL (dual liner) establish a tough, durable and puncture resistant fluid barrier, that helps prevent liquids from penetrating the flooring and becoming a source of corrosion. These tapes are qualified to Airbus and Boeing specifications and meet flammability requirements according to FAR/JAR 25.853(a) for floor coverings.
