3M™ Silicon Nitride Valve Ball & Seats are excellent for valves in chemical processing and other industries where harsh conditions and challenging fluids exist. These balls are robust against cavitation when compared to metallic counterparts.
3M™ Silicon Nitride is an extremely hard and corrosion-resistant ceramic material that is 60% lighter than steel. This material, Sintered Silicon nitride (Si₃N₄), is designed to offer a combination of excellent properties, including thermal and impact shock resistance, electrical insulation, and wear resistance. Available in two grades, XP and HS, 3M™ Silicon Nitride offers a wide degree of design flexibility, making it an outstanding alternative to stainless steel, superalloys, tungsten carbides, and first-generation ceramics such as Al₂0₃ and ZrO₂. These performance benefits make 3M™ Silicon Nitride a perfect solution for valve balls & seats.
