3M™ Auto Glass and Body Caulking Butyl Sealer is a versatile adhesive sealer designed specifically for bonding windscreens, quarter lights, and back lights in vehicles and sealing various openings on a car body. This preformed mastic butyl cord is suitable for installing direct glaze (gasketless) windscreens and for use in butyl-bonded glass systems, providing a seal without offering structural strength.
Use 3M™ Auto Glass and Body Caulking Butyl Sealer to seal butyl-bonded glass systems or as thumbing compound, ideal for sealing various openings on the car body, including gaps around cables and tail lights. When used in conjunction with the 3M™ Single Step Primer as glass adhesion promoter, it provides excellent adhesion on glass, as well as on unpainted steel and aluminium surfaces. This versatile sealer can be painted over for a seamless finish, and its high initial strength and lack of oil migration ensure long-lasting performance in various automotive applications.
