Scotch-Brite™ Wheels are powered by nonwoven technology — a conformable nylon web with incorporated abrasive grain developed by 3M engineers.
These conformable unitised or convolute wheels are the ideal solution for a range of metal prep and finishing applications, from deburring to polishing.
Some products in the Scotch-Brite™ Wheels family combine this nonwoven technology with another groundbreaking 3M invention: 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain.
Convolute wheels are typically larger and used on stationary equipment like pedestal grinders, back stand machines and bench grinders. They are created by tightly wrapping nonwoven material around a core and excel in a broad range of surface conditioning applications.
Unitised wheels are generally smaller and used on portable tools like angle grinders and die grinders. They consist of layers of nonwoven material pressed together and cut into various sizes to match your tool and application needs.
Scotch-Brite™ nonwoven web with resin is wound around a fibreglass core.
Several layers of the Scotch-Brite™ nonwoven material are unitised to form a solid block. This is then processed in various forms.
