Height Safety Demonstrator

  • Training focuses on equipping the student with the knowledge and skills to be able to demonstrate safe practice and use of specified equipment or techniques to fellow company employees (as per The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations’ requirements and Work at Heights Regulations 2005). Teaching students: to arrange in-house practice sessions for company employees; the importance of documentation and good record keeping; organisation and group control; how to identify the various risks and hazards involved with this type of activity; how to identify and target essential training needs.

    Attendees will be equipped with the skills to deliver maintenance of skills training on specified equipment. The equipment specified can be tailored to meet your particular requirements.

    Note: all students will be capable of delivering practice sessions using a mannequin. Demonstrators will not be competent to deliver rescue sessions using a live person.

    Prerequisites

    Those attending must have successfully completed a HS2 Height Safety level 2 or equivalent basic working at height & rescue course and be medically fit with a head for heights.

    • Rescue and evacuation using 3M™ DBI-SALA® Rollgliss™ R550
    • Rescue using 3M™ DBI-SALA® Rollgliss™ R250
    • Evacuation from a wind turbine

    Certification

    All delegates will receive a certificate valid for 2 years, after which a refresher training will be necessary. Recertification will consist of one-day practical assessment, which needs to be completed before certificate expiry, 3M will notify you when your certificate is due for renewal. The successful candidate must complete a minimum of 3 practice sessions per year to remain in date.
