You may be surprised to learn that 11 million people in the UK suffer from a form of hearing loss, and this figure is expected to rise. The charity Action on Hearing Loss reports that by 2035, around 15.6 million people will be affected by hearing loss[1]. That’s 1 in 5 people in the UK. Last year, 20,000 new cases of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) were caused or made worse by dangerous levels of noise at work[2].
The good news though is that NIHL is entirely preventable, and reliable hearing protection is the key. We’re often told by customers that choosing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can be a confusing process. That’s why we developed our very own 4 step hearing conservation programme. It helps to break down the whole PPE selection process into manageable chunks.
